Natures Calendar July 2016 Poem by Alison Gaff

Natures Calendar July 2016

July is a respite from the wet
The mercury is rising
Its warm and dry most of the time
With temperature's surprising

Not since two thousand and three
Have we had such a hot July
But plants and animals suffer
If food and water we don't supply

The garden permanently needs watering
And the paddling pool needs a fill
The beaches are all busy
And the sun is shining still

Well we've made it through the hot spell
As the month comes to an end
With August taking over
Will it be foe or friend
