Need Some Ego Poem by Francis Duggan

To survive in the Human World we all need some ego is how it seems to be
But too much of it robs people of their humanity
Those with over inflated egos their own praises can only sing
In their thinking self infatuation is quite a good thing
A swollen ego on the mind takes it's toll
And crowds out compassion from the human soul
Of any more egotistical people the Human World is not in need
For there are too many of their sort far too many indeed
Those humble in their ways have their egos under control
Their own praises you never hear them extol
Of the humble of mind just a few of i know
The people who possess the bright inner glow
To survive in the Human World that we all need some ego happens to be
true
Though some have too much of it and that is to give them their due.
