If someone needed help upon the street
Would you meet them with swift feet,
Would you be ready with an outstretched hand
Will you be there to save them, or help them stand,
Would you give them a dollar just to be fed
With them would you ever break bread,
Would you help them the best that you can
As they too are either woman or man,
But, maybe them you would quickly ignore
Because to you they are the needy or the poor,
Or maybe you don't ever help women or men
Because of the coloring of their skin,
Or maybe you don't agree with their belief
And there are some people you won't give help or give relief,
Or maybe they worship someone different than you
Remember, God still loves them and you,
If someone were in the ocean and they were drowning
Would you be there watching and maybe frowning,
Or would you help someone because you know it's okay
Or would you first ask them for their picture and resume.
