Negative Exposure Poem by Pasquale DiMeola

Negative Exposure

Yellow tape cordons off the scene
Brain tissue pavement deep in betrayal
An anxious crowd shifting with delirium
While reporters and cops interview witnesses
Drowned out by wailing sirens
As the mechanical men in white
Goose-step out of the darkness
Wheeling the ashen corpse
Inside the ivory ambulance
To the grey mortuary
On the metal slab...
Eyeballs sapped of color.
