Neither Princess Nor Dragon Poem by Mary Angela Douglas

Neither Princess Nor Dragon

Neither princess nor dragon
I trod the golden road
Not expecting any favors
Doing as I was told
But still, straying when the clouds massed
In the Heavens the color of amethyst
When it was to you Lord God
I brought my lilied my baffled heart
My dandelion puff striations
Neither princess nor dragon
Shining in the dark.
