Neither The Will To Live Nor The Fear Of Death Binds Me Poem by Mohammad Younus

Neither The Will To Live Nor The Fear Of Death Binds Me

Neither the will to live nor the fear of death binds me—
I long to dissolve in the ocean of love, boundless and free.
No stone upon my path can halt my steady stride,
For if I pause, I'll turn to ash—my journey is my guide.

My God has set watchmen to guard my restless night,
So the moon and stars endure, refusing to fade from sight.
The madness of awareness flows from my fitrah's core—
No illusion can overturn the life I'm destined for.

The Gracious One pours forth His grace, infinite and true,
A moon rises by day, and the night hides a sun within its hue.
Both realms, in truth, are One—no division can remain,
Why yearn for union when He holds all, joy and pain?

The light of day streams from Him, the Eternal, the Infinite,
While night's dark tresses veil His face, yet still reflect His light.
Through day's bright veins, the eternal glow forever flows,
And every path is lit by radiance that never dims or goes.

Yet only those who are light may walk upon this light—
Here, at A‘arāf's threshold, I stand, where day and night unite.
No need to seek the source—it's here, within my sight,
For in His embrace, all is One, and all is right.
