Nelson Mandela, The Madiba And The Father Of The Nation Of South Africa

Nelson Mandela, the Madiba and the "father of the nation of South Africa"
-Gayathri B. Seetharam
Nelson Mandela fought against the apartheid regime in South Africa
Which discriminated against the native black Africans on the basis of colour
And this is a reprehensible state of affairs, recognised the world,
But without Mandela's fight for equality, things would not have changed;

He spent 27 years in political prison,27 long years
To fight his struggle against the authoritarian and unjust government
Years he did not see the sunlight or breathe the fresh air
Or lead a family man's life for he believed in his principles;

He was also S. Africa's first black President
And served as the leader of the Non-Aligned Movement from 1998-99
To me, his best quote is that education is the most powerful tool that
You can use to change the world;

He made his choices and although I do not agree with his saying:
When a man is denied the right to live the life he believes in,
He has no choice but to become an outlaw,
He brought the quality of equality to his black countrymen;

As he has said, truly, it all seemed impossible until it was done
And he must have said his memorable quote that after climbing a hill
One finds that there are more hills to climb
But I quote from a famous Hollywood movie, the hills are alive with music
For he was President then and Africa was rid of apartheid,
He dreamt of an Africa which is with peace in itself;
And said: If there are dreams about a beautiful South Africa,
There are also roads that lead to their goal,
Two of these roads could be named Goodness and Forgiveness.
