Nest Poem by stu aitken

Nest

In a busy old city, it’s quite a test
To find a place to build a nest
A pair of sparrows flew around
Looking for somewhere to settle down.

At first they tried a building site
Far too noisy, it wasn’t right
They flew on then to a big car park
There was no sunlight, and it was dark.

They even tried a football ground
Too many shouting folk around
The local park was worth the fly-pass
But all the best spots were taken, alas.

By chance they found a nearby zoo
They looked, and straight away both knew
So they built a nest of grass and sticks
For this was the place to raise their chicks!
