New Beginnings Poem by JAE CENTORINO

New Beginnings

Rating: 5.0

The clouds have lifted
I’ve seen some sort of light
They say it must be serenity
And will give me great insight.

'Why did you hurt me so bad? '
I never asked you to lie
You could have been a man
I still don’t understand why.

I can’t believe it took so long
Once my heart turned to stone
I felt it die I should have known,
you’d ultimately do me wrong.

A beginning of a new life came for us
No longer lived for me, all I could do now
was care for us three. A life filled with lies
I hid from the outside all the while
only one of us tried.

So this is what Mother God above
Whispered to me when the
Sun came up and the morning
had finally arrived.

“The loyalty and the time you spent,
The stronger the mind and a beautiful
Woman you will now have to represent.
Take or leave it, it's your choice
do it right now for if you wait you’re choosing
your own fate.'

So on that day I so bravely chose
to put my feet on the floor and
open that new door.

I'm now amazed to say...

'One day I woke up I couldn’t believe;
The sun was so bright I could barely see,
The clouds so white I thought I was in ecstasy.
The haze has gone away and it will surely stay.
This was a start of a brand new day
And no one will ever take this feeling
of my new beginnings away! ”
