New Birth Daily Poem by Joseph Blitch

New Birth Daily

I awoke early with the cocks first crow;
Soon light within darkness was to show;
Must get to my feet and rush to my place;
To pray for the sun to come show its face;
As hurriedly to my meditation place to find;
Stars in clear sky loose their twinkling shine;
Smell the airy fragrance of cedar and spruce;
Quietness broken by the honking of a goose;
Turkeys flutter from night roost to ground;
Mr. Tom calling hens at food he had found;
Comes the rustling of leaves at a rising doe;
Her two fawns tail as off they hurriedly go;
Hearing the whip-o-will calling at his best;
For his mate to join him for their days rest;
Thanking Creator for another beautiful day;
Receiving warming from the suns first ray;
Realizing all His beauty I had just beheld;
He allowed me among it to amiably dwell;
Thanking Creator for this life on His earth;
Each day gives me a rejuvenation of birth.
