To think of you

You said goodbye
I don't know why
But believe me
I will try

I have to let you go
Because that's what you asked
I never in a million years
Ever thought you'd become my past

I stood there as you walked away
Numb, from head to toe
It's funny how things work out
And the things we think we know

Goodbye is a word
That's heard every day
But it takes on a new meaning
As you watch the one you loved walk away
