Morning erects
a perfect sky

as if it were
a Hollywood stage set

in my eye too true
to be good.

throws in
a brimful of birds

until
it is sparrow-full

coloured
with singing

until I am
the child I was

holding my sister’s hand

seeing all this

as if
for the first time

over & over

again.
