O poetry!
.....................
O tranquil poet! do not grieve,
Suspicion, cowardice, and hatred—
three deadly plagues—
they intoxicate some dog-keepers,
So that dogs bark at you without cause.
....
When the law becomes its own mirror-opposite,
boundaries of freedom and privacy shatter.
some Cops go blind,
seeing innocents as the criminals
who eluded their grasp.
....
'The Kremlin Mountaineer', Mandelstam's verse,
he whispered it only to companions,
yet it claimed him in the end.
In Santiago, at Santa Maria Clinic,
after the military coup,
It was poetry, not cancer,
that took Neruda.
…
Had poetry and Gumilev never existed,
would Akhmatova have ever sung 'Requiem'?
…
Would The 'Pisan Cantos' ever have been born
from St. Elizabeth's psychiatric hospital
would Ezra have won the Bollingen Prize
if the Muse had not whispered in shadows? .
…

not more poetry reading.
the only difference from Lorca:
his grave was not lost.
yet the echo of his voice lives in pain.
…
O poetry!
if it weren't for you.
