New Year's Tears Poem by Beth Bailey

New Year's Tears

You stood me up.
And you don't even offer an excuse.
I call. You don't answer.
Your texts on New Year's Eve stopped the moment I said
'I love you'.
I don't know what changed for you in the last few days,
But I get the message loud and clear.
I do have some pride.
And as much as I love you, as much as it hurts, I will let you go.
It's what you want.
I always would give you whatever you wanted.

Strong. acerbic, resolute. The arrangement is free but it flowss with intensity of emotions, not forced - just plain truth. You managed to put it all together well!

Not everyone's new year is Good.. But every new year brings something new in life, teaches something new every time.. A good poem..
