New Zealand Is A Nuclear Free Zone Poem by Terence George Craddock

New Zealand Is A Nuclear Free Zone

New Zealand became
anti-nuclear years decades
ago remains anti-nuclear
as a national policy

Why is this one country
opposed to nuclear wars?
Why is the rest of the world
not as their national policy?

New Zealand declared
itself nuclear-free barred
NZ ports to nuclear warships
nuclear weapons in 1984

an anti-nuclear stance
further affirmed intensified
due to public demand
just three years later with

New Zealand Nuclear Free Zone,
Disarmament, and Arms Control Act
1987, when territorial sea, land
and airspace of New Zealand

became nuclear-free zones;
until an unforeseen time in
the future this will remain
New Zealand foreign policy;
