Nhà tôi có táo, lê tầu
Có Clematis, có giàn nho xanh.
Nho này leo ở hàng rào
Bên này Tennis, vườn rau bên ngoài.
Bây giờ nho nụ mầu xanh
Đến rằm tháng tám sẵn sàng nho ăn.
Nhà tôi có một giàn bầu
Mùa này sớm quá, bầu vừa ra dây.
Bầu này leo vịn hàng rào
Cuối sân Tennis, hàng rào bên kia.
Nhà tôi có cây táo tầu
Lá xanh nho nhỏ nhưng gai đầy cành.
Cây này trồng đã bốn năm
Không hay nêngiữ hay là cắt đi
Sợ là cây dổm mà thôi
Thôi chờ năm nữa để rồi xem sao.
Bây giờ tôi phải đi làm
Bốn cây táo đợi cắt cành, sửa sang.
Táo này trồng đã lâu năm
Lá cành cắt tỉa như là dù che.
Bây giờ trời đã vào hè
Cắt xong lê táo, võng hè ngủ trưa.

I HAVE APPLE AND ASIAN PEAR TREES


I have apple and Asian pear trees.
I have vines of clematis and vines of grapes.

These grape vines climb on a tennis court fence
Which separates a tennis court from my vegetable garden.
At the present time, this grape vine is full of baby green grapes
But these grapes will be ready for eating by middle of August.

I have several vines of gourds
Which just start to send out their climbing tendrils
These gourd vines also climb on a tennis court fence
However, this fence is at the other end of the tennis court.

I also have a Chinese apple tree
Its leaves are small, but its branches are full sharp thorns.
I have grown this plant for at least four years
I've been thinking about removing this plant
As I thought it may not be a producing tree
However, I will give it one more probation year.

Now, it's time for me to start my day work:
I have four apple trees that need to be trimmed.
These plants have been growing for many years
I trimmed them twice a year to keep them like big umbrellas.
Now, season just changed into Summer heat
I'll will take a fiesta on my hammock after trimming these trees.
