Night Poem by Neha Singhal

Night

Rating: 4.5

Broken moon consoles a broken spirit,
Lulled by distant howls and chirps of cricket.
Whole world gets engulfed with deep sleep
When stillness of night creeps

Playful moon hiding behind the clouds
This dreamy ethereal enigma surrounds
Time of tranquil and null noise
You look inside to heed heart’s voice.

Cascade of emotions of the day gone by
Makes you smile, laugh and cry
Darkness ignites flames within
That’s when open eyes indulge in dreaming

Of forlorn past and future so coy
Bleak hopes of love and joy
Embracing the soft cool breeze
A silent dance with quiet melodies

A sense of serenity and intoxications mild
Black arms cradle a scared child
Sorrows are thwarted by strange bliss
Sudden satiation of all that you missed

Droopy eyelids begin to fall
As blue ink of dawn crawls
Show of night ends here,
My stars are lost..only fair!

A nice piece on the serenity and peace that goes with reveries at some nights. A well articulated and nicely penned poem. Thanks for sharing. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON.
