Night Lanterns Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

Night Lanterns

Rating: 5.0

The nightly sky is filled with dazzling stars
Ounce for ounce their numbers are bountiful…
Floating in a whirlpool of the celestial ocean
Their pure luminosity is incredibly beautiful

The distant fires are the lanterns of twilight
Replacing the glow of a sun that is submerged
Enhancing resurfacing thoughts of a spent day
Consciousness drifts away as dreams emerge
