Night Of The Dead Poem by Anil Kumar Panda

Night Of The Dead

Rating: 5.0

The night seems crowded
With stars hobnobbing
Around the pallid moon
The tides fall silent and
Not in a mood to rush
Down the beach and swoon

The trees stand like ghosts
Chasing away birds to
The fields and meadows
The clouds hang over the
Silent grove draping it
Dark with their shadows

Somewhere inside a hut
A lone lamp burns to
Pay homage to the dead
The street is deserted
A dog barks in a corner for
A while making the night sad

The way you have painted the scene with an emotional touch makes it a superlative work of poetry. Thanks a lot.
