Night Watch Poem by Karim Alexandre

Night Watch

Night watch

It is to you I speak in trembling expectation,
Living, what's left of my life's creation,
I look upon that dark fanthomless sea
And gaze upon the reflection that is supposed to be me,

Gray, distant eyes observe my soul,
That which seems now less than whole,
Am I lost? I ask the moon mirrored sea,
Have I lived.... and lost.....who is me?

Time slides by as morning albatrosses glide with a squall,
Carrying the wind....pushing waves tall
They break, over that grey that was me.
I, who was me, has disappeared in the white screeching streaked sea,

Fearing eyes scanning a dark indigo sky,
Gripping tight the ships railing, as the moons ghosts rush by,
My lost gaze distantly settling on that bleak end of heaven and earth
Eternally waiting in tears for my final curse

As indigo turns into orange marbled music,
the sun breaks the sky in myriad majestic.
As she rises to heavens above,
once again she warms my heart with love....

The summer morning settles a breeze over the ocean.
Turns it in a meandering crystal potion.
Wavelets creating filaments of gold and blue
It is then that I am reminded of you.
