Nightmares Poem by Esther Hadassah Sendeza

Nightmares

Rating: 2.5

It was getting darker ahead,
My feet were getting tired.
I was surrounded by the unknown,
And I wanted to get out of there,
But I was clearly losing ground.

I wanted to flee so bad,
To get out of the things I feared most,
This forest was filled with nightmares,
With ghosts that haunted me in the night,
And skeletons hiding behind the shadows.
But the path to the exit was blurry,
And all of a sudden I felt trapped.

Then I took some steps of courage,
And confronted what surrounded me,
And there in the circumjacent,
Were the things I feared the most.
As I kept walking, I couldn't believe my eyes,
I saw you in the midst,
Sharing this toxic space,
A large part,
Of what my nightmares are really made of.
