Nightmares Of No One Poem by Kelly Boutin

Nightmares Of No One

I embrace sleep and fall asleep,
sleep holds me in its arms
my love, my love, nightmares of no one
I awake to count the stars.
I feel alone in this vast darkness
shrouded in a time
far below the heavens
that cling to the skies.
Will I be alone forever
as time drags on with sleepless eyes?
Will the insomnia of loneliness
ever let me sleep tonight?
Or will I awake again with star-stoned eyes
and nightmares of no one?
