No Cash. No Hash Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

No Cash. No Hash

Bad credit?
I wouldn't have applied for credit at all...
If I could afford what i wanted.

Whether good or bad,
I have never had a grocery store...
Foreclose on my eating habits.

And even though the subject may seem ridiculous,
It's like this...
If I don't have the cash,
No eggs with hash splashed with a dash of catsup...
Will I taste to nibble, sniff or eat.

Try shopping for food,
With all resources depleted.

No cash.
No hash.
Whether credit is good, sad, bad...
Or just nonexistent.
A signature with a promised I.O.U.
Will not do.
Even in the best of times!
