We will not have church on Sunday
So, at our homes we will now all pray,
No longer will we enjoy the fellowship
Sadly on reality I take a mellow grip.
There will be no more Sunday school
No more teaching of the Golden Rule,
And no more children being taught a Bible lesson
No more will they be asking a biblical question.
The Pastor will no longer be preaching
The Sunday School teachers will no longer be teaching,
And the congregation won't be praising and singing
No lost souls will members now be bringing.
The deacons will now all be gone
Our Christian pianist will also have moved on,
And no longer will we be giving our tithes
Which has helped many souls and lives.
Now Sunday's at my Church
Now for a pew for no more will we save or search,
No more family or friends will be there
An empty building you'll see if you stare.
As the Pastor leaves and shuts the Church's door
He won't hear the church's doorbell anymore,
A tear is all that I can give, I have supposed
Because, my Church is now forever closed.
