No Illusions To Further Delude Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

No Illusions To Further Delude

What a difference made,
When one with confidence...
Expresses it from centerstage.
With a comfort that eases,
The minds of those...
Being bombarded by confusion.
And indecisive conflicting decisions,
Coming out of the mouths...
Of the few who sit as leaders picked,
Avoiding questions asked.
As if this task,
They would rather pass to someone else...
In a classroom filled with students.
All raising hands knowing the answers.
Hoping one of them the teacher says,
"So glad am I,
You represent the others.
Wishing to prove,
Most of you are not brain dead."

What a difference it makes.
When one with confidence,
Runs to centerstage prepared.
And dares to have anyone,
Feeling confused.
Or wishing to hear anything else,
But the truth and facts of them...
With a doing to quickly make known.

"Any questions?
And please...
By all means,
Don't let my confidence upset you.
I'm not into deception, lies or tricks.
If you thought I came to deliver it,
These are not the times...
To beat around the bush.
Or find excuses to make...
For the purpose to serve,
Your illusions to further delude them...
With homemade apple pie.
Fresh out of the oven baked by grandma! "
