No Lines In Heaven Poem by James Toler

No Lines In Heaven

Rating: 4.0

I bet there are no lines in heaven, no one to make you wait,
No one to ask you to save my place, no early or no late.

No pushy smelly people that bump and cut and curse
No old annoying impatient guy yelling hey me first, me first

Just think how nice you'll feel when once you see the sight
of St.Peters standing by the gate doors all alone in heavens light.

No reason for you to rush or run, no ropes that make a line
It's just your thoughts and a floor of clouds as you're free to take your time

So when you leave your body and take that upward flight,
Just enjoy that long fast tunnel full of heavens light.
Because no one's there to rush you no pushing just for kicks
Heck, you're more likely to find a longer line of folks waiting to try Joes Fried Okra chips

So do me one last favor if I'm first to take that flight
As you pass by me at the casket line, think, I wonder if he was right.
For I bet when he entered heaven he had nothing bad to say
As there was no line for him to wait in as he walked in right away

For I do have my suspensions of how God designed the end
I guess its fair I at least questioned it before my tired soul I send.

So in closing, it's true I'm in no hurry because everything is fine
But it's nice to know that once I go they'll be not a single line

A line for cool Heaven there is not, but long it is where it is hot!
