No Nation - Poem by Francis Duggan

No Nation should have nuclear weapons 'tis not for some powerful Governments to say
To others you cannot have weapons of mass destruction but for us to have them 'tis okay
That do sound very hypocritical and arrogant and very provocative as well
You cannot have nuclear weapons though guns and war planes to you we will sell.

No Nation should have nuclear weapons in a nuclear war billions of people would die
We will bring about human extinction if our World we try to destroy
Mother Earth she would surely recover but humans would be lost forever more
And the World of people would be empty from the north to the southern shore.

No Nation should have nuclear weapons we live in a World of fear
Of terrorism and war on terror and threats of nuclear war we hear
And millions are dying of hunger and millions living in poverty
And that billions in money is being spent on nuclear weapons it seems so ridiculous to me.

No Nation should have nuclear weapons as they can wipe out the entire human race
Humankind would feel safer without them and to live in the World would be a better place
We will bring about our own extinction and extinction is forever 'tis said
And though humans may create weapons of mass destruction they cannot bring back to life the human dead.
