No Need Poem by Hannington Mumo

No Need

No need to bother those of light thinking
For these things are not known to them;
It's like plucking a nanny goat a sweet tune; -
She responds not to your fine musical gem.

There's simply no need to tell your wise words
To ignorant nonentities such as Simons and Peters,
For they will never understand your language
Even if you yell right into their waxed ears.

Give not your most treasured jewels to the pigs
For they will trample on them and trample on you;
They are ever decided recalcitrant fools
Who oppose and curse everything wise or new.
