No Old Gods Poem by Patti Masterman

No Old Gods

Some people, you are always on your knees to,
inside your being-
But they never see it, because you are so forgetful,
left-brained, autistic, dysmorphic;
You say the worst things at the absolutely wrong time

Or nothing at all, when they're waiting so long,
to hear something; anything at all-
And then they go away, wounded..

Just as you are lighting a new candle
Before their shrine:
There are no old gods to the forever young at heart.

The message can be felt I see old politicians planning a war plan with garbled words and lots of candles sold in advance...the candles are for the young at heart, no old Gods only left brained wars...regards
