No One Else Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

No One Else

No one else

I was going to call you friend, I doubt if I shall do so.
You cry against all and blame the world as if we are
Guilty of your lies, egos, brutality and misbehaviour.

You, finally and thanks to politicians’ stupidity
Have a land, a country with national anthem, flag
Three hours across, hidden pain in it, and around
You renewed lies of thousands of years compiled…
To sell it as milk and honey: “is the word of God.”

Open your eyes,
And other parts of being
Unlike past
And I do not call you sibling
Or even friend
Just a person to another
Feeling obliged:
“Open your eyes and look at you.”

You
You
You
No one else.

Then pray to have the ability to read secret lines
In your hair; head, face and heart
The times of homelessness, hated, camouflaged

You
You
You
No one else.
