No One Noticed It Gone Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

No One Noticed It Gone

People these days,
Have become poor in values.
To argue who is on the left.
Who is on the right.
Who is liberal, conservative.
Caucasian and nonwhite.
Who is an immigrant.
Who is native born.
Who is rich who is poor.
No one is middle class anymore.
Who is entitled.
Who is not.
And no one is heard mentioning,
Who among them all can prove...
The doings that make them believe,
They have qualities deserving...
To be called rationally thinking,
Intelligent human beings!
Could it be possible that common sense,
Became so useless no one noticed it gone? !
