I have no place in your heart
Like a bullseye without a dart
The distance now is insurmountable
Yet, still, I don't hold myself accountable
The years are passing one by one
And sadly, I feel spent and done
As neither offers the other an olive branch
I await the beginnings of my avalanche
A time will come when it's all too late
And we'll remember leaning over the garden gate
Chuckling like sisters and brothers
Like father's and daughter's
Sons and mothers and one-time betrothed lovers
But I have no place in your heart
Like a bullseye without a dart.
