Once ago all stars were lit
The sun never overstayed its stay,
And once long ago all moons were amber-filled
Hallowed
and encircling me with love poems to say.
I still I haven't heard from you-
All I heard was the slamming of a door,
No coy smile,
no darting of your mischievous eyes-
Many forgotten vows that long ago you swore.
But this happened many years ago-
Although those memories to me are still new,
Reminiscences of prior times-
And it is I who remained hopeful and true.
I harbor no grudge, for it was a long time ago
A pattern from another twill,
But sometimes when the clouds part and break-
I still ache-
And I am aching still.
