Asif Kamran Dar

No Title - Poem by Asif Kamran Dar

Staring down the barrel of A motionless land
The slow down-drift of snow is enchanting
Beyond, the wooden monuments take their stand
To guard the darkness beyond blood and sand

I debate whether I should walk on past
This perrinial garden of deception
Or perhaps today I shall make this vast
And vivid spectacle A home to call my last

It seems right to have walked this way
It seems right to be at A journey's end
It seems right on this particular day
That the slow down-drift of snow shall capture it's prey

But, in that moment the winds scorch my face
As if to question my being in this place.
