No Turning Back Poem by David Harris

No Turning Back

Rating: 5.0

There comes a point in our lives
when there is no turning back.
What is done is done
and there is no changing that.
Some mistakes that we’ve made
can never be reversed.
We can only go forward
hoping to never make them again.
There is no turning back
as far as our lives are concerned.
No turning back from things we’ve said
that somehow hurt someone.
Apologies cannot take back the words
though we may feel guilty about them.
There is no retracting things,
no turning back the clock.
We can only hope all those we’ve injured
will forgive us for the misdemeanours
that we have done.
