</>What would I say
On my last heartbeat?
With the last breath
Of my extinguished life
A sudden stop without
A warning of any kind
I've been running,
Passing the scenery
Of hope and despair,
Blur of lines,
Just me and the road
I've been breathing
As if it's a given,
Smiling without knowing
Another is dying next to me
I've been living
On a dream of others
Using them to build myself
A bridge where only I can cross
Disregard the stench of corpses,
The inaudible scream of
The Used behind my back
Just keep walking,
Living my dream
Like how I was taught
'Follow your passion, '
They had said
'Give your best,
Grasp your chances'
'Be yourself, '
Be the one
To truly say
'I've lived my best'
At your last moment,
What nonsense.
NONSENSE, I SAY! ! !
When the time comes,
It'll be your turn,
And what's left is not your life
But of others' that you've thrown away
To get to the peak of life,
To obtain what you desired,
To fulfill your role as a foolish human
Now if that's a definition of
Being Yourself,
Being the star
That everyone wants to be,
Then I'd rather be
A nobody who
Grasped the hand
Of the ones falling
Screw the lies,
Follow your dreams?
Don't joke with me
I refuse to regret
on the last breath
of my extinguished life
So I'll be a nobody
And grasp that hand
I'll be a nobody
I'll be a Nobody
It's been a while since I've written a poem, and I've been trying and looking around to find that one poem that would give me my spark of motivation..and I think I just found it <3
This poem has not been translated into any other language yet.
I would like to translate this poem
I find your whole expression of inner turmoil very interesting. You speak of the flaws of being an individual, and the positive morality of being one of the herd. This really reminds of capitalism versus socialism. Perhaps, as witnessed in reality, a solid middle is beneficial. In the end, I hope you find what you are looking for.
