Noleen Poem by Francis Duggan

Noleen

Noleen she is in her late sixties she smiles through a gap in her teeth
And she is a warm hearted person and she is a pleasure to meet
She doesn't wear makeup for to hide signs of ageing or use hair dye for to cover her gray
There is nothing conceited about her she ages in a natural way.

Noleen she was a school teacher she retired some four years ago
Her leisure hours spent in her garden one who loves for to help things to grow
A woman who truly loves Nature as the greatest love of her life
Her only child died as a school boy and she never was anyone's wife.

She knows all the birds in her garden by their chirp or whistle or song
You ask her what is the bird singing and her answer will never be wrong
She learned a lot about Nature from her late father when she was younger years ago
But she will tell you that Nature's secrets are not for human kind to know.

Noleen is a beautiful person kind hearted and gentle and wise
The windows to her soul wide open in her beautiful soulful brown eyes
Her warm smile exposes two teeth missing and lights up her beautiful face
She is such a down to earth person and one who is ageing with grace.
