Nomads Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Nomads

Nomads

Vast sky has slept
Underneath blanket
Of cloud, light grey.

In distance, rains a lot
Tiny are the drops.

I picture my long past,
When by palm, laid, relaxed.

Stared at rising dust,
Particles were small.

Now, trees nearby
Stand firm, very calm.

Our thoughts are far from
The dangers, seasonal.

We are fenced by borders,
Many walls, barriers
That butcher old cultures.

Wish I was in open
Under the falling rain
On trees of jungles
And bushes scattered
Near seas and oceans
Or the endless deserts.

I envy the nomads,
I envy the nomads,
I envy the nomads.

I envy wilderness
Of snake and lizard,
Of lions and tigers,
Of the fish in water.

Love life of free men
Even if live shorter.
