None Of This Matters Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

None Of This Matters

...and,
The ones observing this catastrophe.
Have been convinced their support of it,
Ultimately benefits their quality of life.
As long as they continue to persist,
Assisting in the ruining...
Of their own foundations.
Despite of the overwhelming evidence,
They have been deceived by lies.
Crime, corruption and alibis.
Even elementary school children,
Stand by with raised eyebrows...
In total disbelief.

Yet...
None of this matters,
To adults who suppose to be in control.
Since what they have been told,
Makes sense and to them logical.
That a bird of Phoenix will rise.
Before their eyes.
Blinded by darkness in caves created.
That prevents them to see,
An increasing diversity.
Their hatred of it has caused them,
Agonizing grief.

"Who is that?
Making such negative comments.
As soon as we find those flashlights,
And distribute them.
I demand you expose your face.
Your comments bring disgrace,
Upon our agenda.
Okay!
Finally we have the flashlights.
Now...
Who is it,
That has removed the batteries?
Admit it.
I demand this be admitted, NOW! "
