Normalcy Poem by Heather Z. Hanna

Normalcy

I return!
Down from the mountains,
Up from the valleys,
Back on level ground.

The ground does sway a bit.
Yet, it's good to be back.

Refreshed, with a new zest.
A new perspective.
Opportunity ahead to do new things
And old things in new ways.

Forward I go with surer step.
Forward I go with firmer grip.

I return from the extremes
Of heights and depths.
Regained balance.
Regained normalcy.

Forward I go with greater good.
Forward I go with better sight.

Back on level ground.
Where I can live clean.
And I can think clear.
And I can breathe well.

Forward I go with smarter thoughts.
Forward I go with sharper bites.

The ground does sway a bit,
But I will go forward!
