Not A Princess Poem by Kimberly Lindsey

Not A Princess

I once thought I was a Princess,
Because you treated me like that.
I once thought you were my knight,
Your code of honor was exact.

Taylor says it best, in the song that she sings,
I am going to tell you, exactly what it means to me.

I’m not a Princess,
This is not a fairy tale,
I’m not the one, you’ll sweep off her feet,
Lead her up the stairwell,
This aint Hollywood,
This is a small town.
I was a dreamer,
Before you went and let me down.
Now it’s too late,
For you and your white horse,
To come around.

I’m not special after all,
And this place isn’t either,
I’m not your girl, not the one,
That you wed forever,
This is not the right place,
It’s just a place,
I believed in you,
And you let me down,
Now it’s too late,
I want a divorce,
Your papers will be in the mail.

Now you know what that song means to me,
And you know what you say won’t change anything.
