Not A Single Person Owns America Poem by Hebert Logerie

Not A Single Person Owns America

You don't own the FBI and its agents
While you are president
America belongs to its citizens
You don't own the CIA and its agents
While you are president
America belongs to its inhabitants.
What you should own
Are the love, honor, honesty and pride
For America. America is not on loan
America is to be loved, not to be lied
To from sunset to sunrise
From the last Angelus bell to the early rise
Of the birds. Stop lying to America.
Let's embrace unity, opportunity and diversity
Turn America into a panacea
Let's respect and greet each other daily.
Love America and protect America
From violence and deadly Corona
Turn America into a paradise of freedom
Make America fun, smart, equal and prosperous
Let's build a united country, a divine Kingdom.
Racism is deadly, repugnant and contagious
Stop police brutality, cruelty and rudeness
Love your brothers and humanness
Love your sisters and show kindness
If you do, you'll be honored and blessed.
Hate is too rough and heavy to be carried
Around the blocks of history for so long.
For America, let's sing a joyous and patriotic song
Against racism and against bigotry
Let's sing for life, love, peace and liberty.
