Not Masters Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Not Masters

Rating: 5.0

For sixty years of dynasty rule
We were made simply fool
Everybody in hierarchy took it as divine right
Poor were kept at bay and fight

Elections were fought on cast lines
Sometimes on religion and divisive defines
Let us hope wind blows differently
Peace and harmony stays presently

People have given mandate
“Perform or perish” they dictate
We will not wait for another years
So they may keep and remember the fear

They have to keep in mind and remember
“They are servant and not masters”
They must meet challenges and fulfill the aspirations
Else the exit door may be shown with firm resolutions

Yes each individual expects some justice
If not in full, but fulfillment of some promises
Address of Poverty and peaceful environment
We may need easy life to be spent

I second Padmaja here! Let us really hope that we get a 'stable' government this time. I am hopeful because Modi has a checkered background; he has also imbibed a lot of philosophical exercises as part of his grooming. Please allow me to use Hasmukh Sir's post to share my utter surprise in BJP's getting 26 on 26 in Gujarat, despite what he has been going through since a long time. I am really really confused as to what the truth is... anyway, whatever be it, let's move forward towards a brighter tomorrow.Enjoyed your poem Sir!
