Nothing Lasts Forever Poem by Randy McClave

Nothing Lasts Forever

Nothing Lasts forever,
That's what my father use to say,
And nothing ever stays the same,
For someday it all will pass away.
I looked upon my father then
And I thought how could he ever change
A man so strong, and who never was wrong,
Wouldn't he always stay the same.
He held my hand when I started to walk.
All those many years ago,
Now I hold his hand, that of a man
How I prayed he would never grow old.
