Noticing Children's Behaviors Poem by RoseAnn V. Shawiak

Noticing Children's Behaviors

Noticing styles of young children as they adapt to their
lives when with others.

Some shy and keeping to themselves, other's outgoing,
laughing, enjoying being with everybody, allowing them-
selves to shine and be a part of the group.

Silently, shy children sit on the sidelines, watching,
learning from everything they are seeing around them.

Finding out, understanding communication between people,
watching their body language, expressions, gestures, how
they interact and converse.

All of it etched in their quiet absorbent minds, one day
to become poetry in our world.

Future poets writing their life's expectations, hopes,
dreams, experiences, circumstances and situations into
poems for all to read one day.

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

What a wonderful evocation of children! It's so positive and affirmative. Showing how their future values are already at work in their play and work. In the season of the Holidays we can take pleasure in children's delight and see that emotional resevoir inside of them which spills out in their fun and frolic. How many wonderful poems are growing right now as they play their child games and build up memories to draw from in the future! You are giving me - us - hope in the future with such children to succeed us in their turn.
