Nude And Naked Poem by Aniruddha Pathak

Nude And Naked

Pair of words least fancied by the prude,
And despite its link with arts, poor nude
Considered is no good,
If not rude, crude and lewd,
Oh who can address whimsy man's mood?
Venom there be, not be,
What holds people's fancy
Be the snake's daunting hood.

The word nude can claim some honourable association with classical world of art— painting and sculpture. It has fallen foul still, victim of the whim of language users. ‘Nude tends to go with sleaze, suggesting salacious nakedness. In comparison, naked is functional and natural'. Alas, perception, not underlying truth, is all there is in this world.

Nudity is nothing to show shame, it is just flesh, and flesh is not evil, only what one does to it. Lovely poem.
