My thoughts went to spring far from the scene,
I saw when a yellowing brown leaf
That filled me with moments of grey grief,
And my mind craved for shades of lush green.
And then when I saw an old leaf fall,
One, two, and followed by virtual rain,
Spring was my mind's repeated refrain,
And dreams of spring days began to gall.
O mind, your yesterday's a spent dream,
I recalled what a poet had said,
Spilling from the memories still red,
Tomorrow is too vague — gay or grim,
O Man, now's the moment to cherish,
Today thence if lived at fullest brim,
Maketh the day gone a happy dream;
Let thine wish be today to relish.
Know, the past has spent up all its now,
The morrow too shall come soon to bow,
So, live not to rue thine way-lost now,
Now's all there's— love or hate hoary how!
Autumn be or spring, they've varied charms,
Let me haply live whatso the scene,
Don't ye find nature in its now keen?
Embrace this moment with open arms.
