O birds! So sorry

O birds! I feel so sorry
and worry too
for the plight caused
by human beings and made you dead
You had misfortune
as we took away your heaven
the nice place to live in
and enjoy the forest scene
You had magnificent sky
With wings to try
And reach as far as you could
And held the sway
what made us think contrary!
And felt necessary
To deforest the natural habitat
And made it barren at last
How many birds lost their nests?
Animals too were divested of green grass
We were at loss to find the nature's fury
And that came very heavily on us
Nature showed us the third eye
"Beware, you too will be tried"
For sins committed against
And you shall test the wrath

It's time that man realised that the Earth can't be his monopoly; that every creature has a right to exist & survive in the finer balance of Nature. Otherwise, the links lost owing to the wreaking of extinction of any species, would spell doom on humans, in the long run. Thank you for conveying this message through your poem, dear Hasmukh. Heart touching verse Hasmukh ji! Indeed humans have created havoc on earth and snatched the homes of many creatures. This one topic is very dear to my heart. Some of my poems also touch such topics like the last few poems- Single Use Plastic, Plastic Dolphin and I am Choking. Loved the poem Sir! Giti Tyagi, Patiala, Sep 29,2019
Their habitat is at risk and it's courtsey human activities leading to imbalances in ecosystem. A thought provoking read. TFS. Annapurna Sharma, Nellore, Sep 29,2019
