O Freedom Poem by Mohammad Younus

O Freedom

O Freedom.
How this spirit - stilled, and gagged -
...still entices us all!
To live a dignified life, without any...
...discrimination and suppression!

O Freedom,
Will the time come...
...for slaves to be free...
...across these vast continents...
...from the tyrant occupiers of the World?

O Freedom
For their voice to be sent forth!
Crying out in the deafening noise!
Will the painful shrieks of the voiceless...
...ever be heard?

O Freedom
For their dream to live in peace...
...to move around in freedom!
When will their never-ending...
...violence and suppression...
...come to a final end?
Will they ever be allowed to settle down...
...on the earth free of fear and terror?
To mature, grow and flourish?

O Freedom
Will the oppressed of the world...
...be ever set free by the worldlords?
To soar above the dense dark clouds?
Will they ever be allowed by the overlords...
...to stand upon their legs unfettered?
Forever freed of shackles of oppression!
