O Happy-Go-Lucky Soul Poem by Mohammad Younus

O Happy-Go-Lucky Soul

0 happy-go-lucky soul, ...
...from worldly pleasures, do not get mad;
Your pleasures are ephemeral, they'll vanish soon;
And lo! They are not like everlasting pleasures...
...of the promised paradise;
If the spring spreads its flower-canopy over...
....the singing birds of love...
...they must know that the leaves will fall off...
...the trees one day, and the beautiful flowers...
...will wither away;

O' Friend, bear it in your mind...
...that if the world turns to your favor some days...
...it must turn hard and cruel some day;
Do not overlook the ultimate reality of world...
...that death-flood shall sweep off all life one day;
Your ship shall sink if you not be a pilot as Noah...
...to sail safely your ship ìn the deluge, ...
...and reach the safest shore to end your strife;

O friend, let me tell you, ...
...when through desert you pass for pilgrimage...
...to Mecca, ...
...don't be desperate If thorns bother your feet;
The road 's perilous and destination away, I admit;
Yet it goes to Mecca in the end, I dare assure you;
So MyKoul, never mind the long, and lonely travel...
...through the desert;
Pray and travel with steadfast patience - one day, ...
...inshallah, salvation you will find.

MyKoul
